Probably not the newest thing in the e-mail world, as other clients has this too. Notes offers type-ahead suggestions from your corporate domino directory as well as your personal address book. Two very cool features needs to be pointed out:

  1. You e-mail a person that is not in your corporate domino directory or in your personal address book. You then make an e-mail house cleaning and deletes the mail you sent that person, you will probably think that the address has gone and wouldn’t appear in your address type-ahead. Wrong, the next time you need to send an e-mail to that person, that person’s e-mail will still appear in the type-ahead as these addresses are kept in the personal address book (Contacts).
  2. Notes remembers! And it remembers with whom, you have had the most collaboration with. This means that, in case of many contacts with the same name or name similarities, Notes will still list the people you have collaborated with most at the top of the type-ahead list. This can be very useful in large corporations, with many colleagues having similar or same first- or surnames.

The type-ahead addresses are maintained in the personal address book (Contacts) and from here you can delete, hide addresses from the type-ahead list or move them to contacts as a regular contact in your personal address book.
